Mission

The Swiss Yogathon seed was planted in 2011, then the organization was created in 2016 and is now dedicated to promoting non-violence through yoga including all facets of this tradition, culture and lifestyle.

We are creating fundraising events (trainings, classes...) to support our actions. Through karma yoga and seva activities, we build humanitarian projects.

Mission for 2019

Non-Violence is a personal matter that becomes a collective vocation

To face violence is a collective subject. We cannot give up and only mind about ourselves.  Through the practice of yoga, we invite each and every soul to reflect about Self to improve the world we live in.

Non-violence varies from one to another, and it has to be adapted to each circumstances.  It is therefore everybody’s responsibility to find the right change to implement.  We are facing questions like what’s the best behavior when facing an aggression? Should we give back or surrender? Do we have to accept it all or when does it become inacceptable?

This is a moral choice and an ethical one.

This year: let’s identify our motivations

What do we get from living in a more peaceful world ?  and in creating a more peaceful world ? return on investment is common. So let’s answer those questions

Redefine our values

Be and feel useful

Develop self-esteem

What is an obstacle to living this way and share it ?

The answer should be : it creates wellbeing and it balances humanity – if you hear too much of your personal issues, be careful on how you will invite others on the journey, there might be risks to loose them on the way because we all have different issues.

What is you deep conviction and gutt feeling about non-violence?  Horizons will open with the right answer to the question.

By answering this kind of question, maybe we get closer to Happiness,  but the definition of Happiness in such case will be : « a simple synchronization between a Being and the life he/she is living »

No Cowardise nor Helplessness

Neither cowardice nor helplessness… The greatest names of non-violence in this world have nothing to do with inertia, desertion, complicity or passivity. On the contrary, everything rests on an incredible tenacity and this first being on the individual level. It is put in place with a voluntary resistance associated with an unshakable ideal: the respect of the Human. The subject here is about being active, being responsible, being united and to practice a rebellious abstention. The goal is wellness, the balancing of humanity. It will be necessary to thwart certain habits, to question oneself, to avoid the violent routines and for that, one has to feel strong. Yoga helps us. And not far from there, a taste of happiness comes to us.

At present, we build a project in South Africa to show the world that, what is considered as a very dangerous country can be an example in the change we want to see in the world. The project pilote includes the creation of a house to practice yoga for free and for everyone in townships, to show how we can live together and improve quality of living through the values of yoga. We plan to open more Ahim'SA Houses in various cities, in Switzerland and in other underpriviledged areas.

— Mahatma Gandhi, Autobiographie ou mes expériences de vérité58

"It's the action, not the fruit of the action, that's important. You have to do the right thing. It may not be in your power, may not be in your time, that there'll be any fruit. But that doesn't mean you stop doing the right thing. You may never know what results come from your action. But if you do nothing, there will be no result."      Mahatma Gandhi

" If I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning"

Gandhi
